  • About SelfTarget
  •

This simple Addon checks your Friendly target and keep it up.
As soon as you lose your F-target, it sets your char as F-Target.

I play a Healer (AM), losing my F-Target time to time was very frustrating because some Spells need a F-Target to be present.

This addon check if you currently have a F-target selected, if not it make a simple selftargeting. So in hectic battles you are at least sure that you are the default target.

That's it.

Slash commands
There is exactly one. /selftarget which toggle the Addon on/off

Requirements
This Addon needs two librarys. The first is LibSlash and the second one is LibTimer you can download both in the Warhammer Addons on Curseforge.

Installation
Install it like every other Addon too. You can find general Addon installation instructions here.

  • For a temporary workaround, edit SelfTarget.lua and go to the function SelfTarget.Check()

    Comment out (or delete):

    "local MyFriendlyTarget = ..." and
    "if (MyFriendlyTarget == ...)"

    Add in its place:

    if string.len(WStringToString(TargetInfo:UnitName("selffriendlytarget"))) == 0 then

This seems to fix it. Note that my experience with LUA extends to about 15 minutes of browsing through the documentation, I was able to get this working just by looking through a couple other addons and a little logic :P. I have no clue if this introduces any new issues or anything but it has seemed to work fine for me after about 5 hours of playing or so.

    Good luck!

Missing this addon alot and think it should be default to select self however, the fix listed below i cannot seem to get it to work.

I don't suppose you could post all the text that has to be replaced as i have removed both lines with the text shown and added the line but still does not work.
    Thanks in advance

Since the latest patch I've been getting errors with this application and it no longer works. I really miss having the selftarget on, because I've gone back to my Rend Soul not healing me anymore because I lose my defensive target. T_T I hope you update again soon!

  • Thank you! I play a warrior priest and a few of my spells require I have a f target. I realized quickly that it doesn't automatically place your char as it so I would miss out on the buffs from my spells procs. Many thanks!

@skyesfury: Burst my bubble ? Did you ever try to play a AM ? The default selftargeting doesn't function the same way as this addon. Its a bit different. If the default function is enough for you then you do not need to use this addon. If you like the wow/aoc style of targeting then maybe you like it.

  • Hate to burst your bubble, but if you have no "defensive" target (what you're referring to as a F-Target), your character is considered the defensive target by default. This AddOn only adds unnecessary processes to an already clunky client.

    Hey Anoik

Sounds like you mixed up two addons. This addon here permanently targets yourself, if noone else is targeted. It would (or should) never switch to someone else, so this is the wrong thread.

Most likely you are using EMonitor and if so, check the documentation there. (Btw: Easy fix for your problem: Instead of F1 use the toggling script of EMonitor to target yourself)

I like the idea of this addon, but i have a problem with it. If press F1 to heal me, after the heal it changes again to the last friendly target, and the same when i change my friendly target, the addon changes my selection to the last one, so, if i need to heal me more than one, i have to select me and heal, select me and heal, and so on.

    Can you change that?

    For example.

    1. No friendly target. Then the addon set me as FT.

    2. I have a FT. If i lost the selection, the addon set him again as FT.
2.1 I have a FT. If i put another player as FT, the addon set him as FT and keeps him as FT, and don't change to the last one.
2.2 I have a FT. If i put me as FT, then the addon keeps me as FT, and don't changet to the last one.

Sorry for my english, it's not my native language :)

The addon is great in PvP and other hectical situations!

It would be great if you could provide a script for toggeling it on/off, so we could toggle it with a button.

    Get the following :
    Libslash and libtimer both installed
[string "Interface/addons\selftarget\selftarget.lua"]:43:attempt to call field 'PauseTask' (a nil value).
