  • About ObjectiveTracker
  •

Objective Tracker keeps track of known timers for Battlefield Objectives, and displays up to 5 of the shortest-remaining-duration timers for easy reference. The display can be moved via the layout editor and disappears when no known timers are active.

BOs which are currently being taken will start with a bar of the old owner's color, which gradually gets filled by the new owner's color.

Locked BOs start out with a full bar of the owner's color, which gradually gets filled with gray as the timer runs out.

I just noticed in one of your screenshots, it does say if it's healing boon, merchant, etc.. how do I get it to show that?

Love the mod! I also started using Nobby's Nuts because I wanted the functionality of knowing whats going on with keeps and in other zones. Since I installed that mod I no long get the BO names above my timers for this mod. Any ideas on what the problem might be or how to fix it?
I'm gonna ask the same of the author on the Nobby's Nuts page as well.

It would be nice if you could add the option so it shows if it's merchant, artisan, healing, etc... as on my server, everyone calls them by those names, rather than the BFO name itself.

  • I may add, this should have the intention to know at a glimpse of an eye, which BOs are Order/Destruction.

Have the intention to know at a glimpse... you know it's color coded right?

  • Is it possible to merge or add this to the "KeepTracker" - "KeepWatcher" addon, i think of a little spots (like Squared) within the "KeepTracker" boxes.

    Hi Aiiane,

Great work on the mods! Is it possible for the Objective tracker to get current timers when you first get into a zone?

So for example if you're just zoning in and some of the BO's are marked Lost you can see how much longer it'll be before you can take them back.

    Cheers,
    Mandie

No, it's not; the API doesn't actually give times but rather just who owns each BO. ObjectiveTracker just listens for the "something got captured" event and looks to see what BO changed hands, then starts its own internal timer. Since it doesn't know when BOs flipped hands if it's not in the zone (since the client doesn't tell it), it can't know what the time left is.

Wouldn't it be possible to use some hidden chat channel and have ObjTracker send update pulses as pure text in those channels. So if player X is in the zone when something gets capped, and player Y enters zone 1 min later, player X's objtracker triggers a update on player Y's tracker ?
Hope you understand what I mean, and I'm not at all sure it's possible to do, but I saw this addon which made me think of the idea: http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/tca.aspx

Imo it shouldn't need to poll very often, like every full minute would be enough, it'll be more than we have today rite ? =)

It is possible to send information via chat, but there are some drawbacks to doing this (including potentially interfering with *real* player chat), and thus I've decided not to support chat syncing at this point in time. I don't feel that the communication abilities currently provided to addons by the API are good enough to make it worth supporting them and the extra hassles that come with that.

If only this great mod, your other addon Realm Status, and Nobby's Nuts would merge as one. These awesome mods make RvR more enjoyable by making it easier to know whats going on, and track the status.

Dont work for me with the layout editor, the window resize but the content of the window no.

    Why?

Dunno if this has been suggested before, but I'd love the ability to click the timers to announce them in my current active chat. Alt/Ctrl/shift+rightclick for instance, to not interfere with click through to target.

The problem with that is the way the click-handling system works with WAR; click-thru is all-or-nothing; I can't say "click-thru on regular click but not on these modifiers", I can only say either "ignore clicks" or "capture clicks".

  • Would it be possible to perhaps create a button next to each object so you could click on that button much like with the GUI configuration interfaces?

  • How do you resize this?
