  • About Debuff Filter
  •

This addon is to filter out the debuffs and buffs you don't care about. If you melee, you can filter out everything but CoR, FF, and Sunder. If you're a caster, you can just show debuffs like CoE and Winter's Chill. Healers can filter out everything but their buffs and HoTs, etc.

It supports the 40 debuff limit, and besides filtering your current target, you can filter buffs/debuffs on yourself, and buffs/debuffs on the Focus target.

To configure the mod once it's installed, type /dfilter -- you should see a simple UI. To add a filter, select your target from the dropdown menu (Target, Player, Focus), select the Buff or Debuff tab, then type in the name of your buff/debuff and click Add.

If you're not sure how to set the Focus target, you can either type /focus <target> or go into keybindings and bind keys to "Focus Target" and "Target Focus" under Targeting Funcions.

Note: make sure filtering is turned on for your target type, or you won't see anything get filtered.

To move the frames, check "Show Backdrop" and shift-click and drag one of the backdrops.

If you'd like to change the orientation of any frame, select the direction under the dropdown Grow menu, then configure how many buffs or debuffs you'd like to see per row. The layout settings are as follows:

Right-Down, Right-Up: grows to the right, new rows start below or above the first row.

Left-Down, Left-Up: grows to the left, new rows start below or above the first row.

If the "rows" setting is set to 1, you'll have vertical orientation.

To change the orientation of the buff duration time, ctrl-right click the frame you'd like to configure.

A few configuration options exist that aren't available through the UI -- to see them, type /dfilter help

Settings are stored on a per-character/server basis, so it should work fine if you have alts.

hey great mod, but i have 1 problem.

My player buffs does not have that slick watch-like curtain witch indicate how long time my buff have left before they run out.. this seems kind odd since my target debuffs do and it is really anoying beacuse as i tank i need to see comanding shout and Shield block and so on..
its not because i have any other addons blocking or any thing ,tried disabeling them all but no possitive resault. the best i can get is a timer under the buff but even that seems bugged, have tried with omniCC does not work eather.. hope that you can hlp me

    /Regards Madvil

    Re: Madvil1

Unfortunately what you want just isn't possible with the interface for player buffs. At best, you can use OmniCC to have large numbers placed over each icon, or use the default mm:ss timer format. Either way, you should always be able to see an accurate timer for player buffs and debuffs.

the self- applied only and dont combine stack features are not working for me ( it doesnt seem like clicking the button does anything, nothign changes seems unselectable ?) will this be fixed with 2.2 ? or is it a bug ?

  • Sept. 24, 2007, 06:29PM (11 months, 2 weeks ago)

    Re: check buttons

Do you have a spell in the list selected? If you don't, what you described will happen. This is normal since these features are per-spell and not general options.

So, i'm using the german client and version 1.91 of this addon. I'm always getting this error and the whole options menu is messed up:

[string "DebuffFilterOptions_Slider1:OnValueChanged"]:2: attempt to concatenate global 'DFILTER_OPTIONS_SCALE' (a nil value)

string "DebuffFilterOptions_RowSlider1:OnValueChanged"]:2: attempt to concatenate global 'DFILTER_OPTIONS_ROW' (a nil value)

Deactivating all my other addons didn't fix the problem. Neither did using older versions. Is it maybe just incompatible with the german client?

    Re: German client issues

DOH! Someone else mentioned this problem and I just now realized why it's happening.. for a temporary fix, open up localization.lua and put a -- in front of lines 1 and 50. They should look like:

--if (GetLocale() == "enUS" or GetLocale() == "enGB") then

    --end

I'll fix this in the release for 2.2.

    little suggestion:

I'm a healer, so I rarely target mob in fight (I have to heal the MT)

It is possible to add target's target debuff/buff filter ? I want to see if my target's target got some buff/debuff, very usefull for an officer.. :P

    Re: target's target

Since the API doesn't let you monitor when buffs or debuffs update on your target's target, this change would be sort of messy. For a quick hack instead, what you can do is change the word "target" (with quotes) on lines 288, 310, 331, 364, 386, and 400, with the word "targettarget"

This will monitor debuffs and buffs on your target's target, but it will only update the list of buffs when your target's buffs change. Since you're healing the MT, this shouldn't be a problem.

    Hope this works for you!

very nice addon ! keep the good work !

    I love this mod.

It would be even better if I could create my own regions/categories.

For example, I'd really like all the slowing/snares to show up in one place, and the bleed/dots to show up another place.

    Re: regions/categories

Interesting idea! I'll look into it.

Can anyone confirm that this addon correctly displays Curse of the Elements? On Gruul last night, our warlocks kept swearing it was up, but I could not see it. "Curse of the Elements" is the correct spelling and capitalization, no? US English client.

Will this addon be extended to include party and raid members? Would be nice just to have this functionality for HoTs, etc.

  • June 5, 2007, 08:14AM (1 year, 3 months ago)

Displays VT well on my priest, but I cannot get mangle work on my druid. Maim is displayed wel, but mangle (properly spelled, "mangle (Cat)" and "mangle (bear)" is not working. What am I doing not well? Is there any way to stack mangle bear and cat?

  • June 6, 2007, 11:51PM (1 year, 3 months ago)

    Re: Mangle

Hmm, are you sure the casing for each is correct? I've added both to my debuff list, so I'll see if they show up for me. As for stacking, there's no way to stack them into one icon since they both appear under different names.

    Re: concatenate error

Has this problem occured again? If the localization file is being loaded properly, I don't know how this would happen.
