Description :

----------------

This AddOn allows you to create/schedule/manage future raid instance directly in-game. Players can register (join) and reserve a room for your instance, or cancel subscription.

You can setup a maximum players for your event, as well as the min/max per class or role.

When a player wants to join and there is no room left for his class, he is put in a *substitute* queue, waiting for someone to cancel his subscription.

The leader of an event does not have to be logged in for a player to subscribe.

This addon has been designed to help guilds to schedule events, and its member to say *I'll be there*, and count the number of players that are ok for an instance.

It does work for multiple guilds (kind of Alliance of guilds), if you want, or even with your friend list.

All dates are stored in universal time, and displayed in local time, so if someone creates an event in a different timezone than yours, you will see the correct time on your side.

To leave a channel, you just have to type /leave ChannelName

Are you using the guild channel, or a custom named channel ?

  • Sept. 5, 2008, 05:26AM (3 days, 4 hours ago)

I cannot seem to leave the old channels my guild has set for previous GEM versions.. It keeps spamming my screen..
Also, not all the raids we post are shown, nor does is sometimes show wheter or not you have entered yourself, even when you know for a fact you have. Same goes for the 'not comming'. And, eventhough, with numereous explanations from multiple people, and everything being in order, it does not seem to work for some people..

Once you've replied to my previous post, try this:
    Go to this folder: <wow>/WTF/Account/<your acccount>/<Your realm>/<Your character>/
There, backup the following files (rename them to .bck for example): chat-cache.txt and layout-cache.txt

Of course, do that when out of the game.
Log in, and see if it still freezes

What is your computer? (graphic card, cpu)
    What is your operating system?

Have you disabled ALL other addons, but GEM3_Core and GEM3UI, and still have the lock up?

  • Sept. 2, 2008, 12:41AM (6 days, 9 hours ago)

  • Sept. 1, 2008, 05:28PM (6 days, 16 hours ago)

I disabled GEM3_Core and im able to play the game but none of the commands will work to bring up the window to set it up.

  • Sept. 1, 2008, 03:18PM (6 days, 18 hours ago)

the game locks up as soon as i can see my character and i receive no errors because it locks up

  • Sept. 1, 2008, 09:31AM (1 week ago)

@sthan: when exactly does the game lock up? During loading screen (with blizz tips displayed), or when you can see the game? do you have any message displayed somewhere?

  • Aug. 31, 2008, 09:20PM (1 week ago)

Installed GEM v3.10 and the game locks up any idea what might be causing this?

  • Aug. 30, 2008, 10:22PM (1 week, 1 day ago)

it is already possible by right clicking a member of the playerlist of an event and clicking "assistant"

    Hi,
I have just started using your program. One addition to it that I would like to see would be the option of having more than one leader, or more than one person who could add people to events.. that way if someone in the guild does not have the program than the originator of the event does not have to be on to add them.
    Thank you

    Hi JMHammer,

just to optimize things, what is your issue with the official site ?

  • Aug. 25, 2008, 09:18AM (2 weeks ago)

    Hi JMHammer,

(please post on my own forum, it's easier to track down messages. I understand you don't like the GEM3 specific one ^^).

The "issue" with custom channels, is that I sometimes (during my tests) had incoming malformed message (which should never happen, since all messages are "compressed" using libSerializer, and some sort of data checking is done by the addon). This is due to blizz custom channel issues that alter messages and is not reliable. GEM3 ignore messages if serializer fails to uncompress them, but it looks like it sometimes fail, and causes GEM to be fooled by some of them (I shouldn't have to add a lot of message format checks...).
Anyway, password should be working well, it's just that the UI does not activate them.
As for the slash/alias... well it's not coded at all, I haven't found the time to do it.

As for the versionning, we prefered to release a stable version (without custom channels), so that the whole bunch of players that only use Guild channel can fully benefit of the new GEM3 features (and move from GEM2/Calendar to GEM3), and then, in a next "stable" release, add custom channels.

I'll try to add support for alias/slash soon (so that you may test stability).

Kiki and Movix- I think you're doing a great job with the new GEM v3. I'm looking forward to introducing GEM v3 to our guild alliance, but until some issues are addressed, it will not be possible to do so. For example...

1- Without the ability to set a password on a player-created channel to keep out undesireables, and
2- Without the ability to set "alias" and "slash" so that the channel will support item links,

...I'm afraid that it's completely unusable. Our guild alliance does not currently set a password on our channel, but I can see us doing so in the future. Without the ability to link items in the channel, a great deal of the social activity in our channel would dry up, as it would not be possible for people to use the channel to link items or enchants or other things.

There are also a great deal of distractingly bad (English) typos. I'll take a look through the code and send you a file with corrections. However, the new forums at wowgem.fr are terrible - so I'll either post it here, or back on the forums at the http://christophe.calmejane.free.fr/wow/gem/ address.

    Hi JMHammer,

As for the previous beta releases the custom channels are still experimental.
The more peaple can make use of them, the faster we get informations about it's reliability. Since the tests we made by ourself, no issues were found.

  • Aug. 18, 2008, 02:50AM (3 weeks ago)

I asked if there was full support for custom channels. There is not - passwords can't be set, there is no ability to define "slash" and "alias" and therefore no ability to link within a custom channel. This isn't "experimental" - this is "nonfunctional" and until passwords at least can be set for player-created channels, they shouldn't be enabled at all.

GEM 3.10 is missing too many features, is therefore still a beta, and should be labeled as such.

    Kiki-

We use GEM to coordinate events among many different guilds.

Does the 3.10 release have full support for custom channels, or are player-created channels not reliable?

  • Aug. 4, 2008, 09:36AM (1 month ago)

    Hi,

this is a know issue due to custom channels usage (remember custom channels are experimental in this version). If you want to (tempo) avoid this message, add the Guild channel to your config (GEM options, channels, click the "Add Guild" button).

This issue has been fixed for next version, thanks

I get the following error every minute

GuildEventManager WARNING (please inform Kiki): GEM3_CHAN_FoundGuildChannelLeader: Not in GUILD channel!!

    Any idea why?
