WoW Invades CBS Sports

News | July 18, 2007 (1 year, 1 month ago) | by Nimloth | Filed in World of Warcraft

Don't expect to see David Letterman or even CSI when you tune in to CBS Sports on Sunday, July 29th at 12pm ET/9AM PT. CBS Sports is going to be locked in the midst of a battle between the Horde and the Alliance on the distant world of Azeroth!

World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade will make its network television debut on CBS Sports as part of an hour-long special on the World Series of Video Games, Presented by Intel circuit stop in Louisville, Kentucky. The World Series of Video Games adopted World of Warcraft as a main title and have given players a chance to play for a piece of the $90,000 prize pot. Come out and watch some hardcore 3v3 PvP, as the best WoW teams in North America fight for the gold (medal, this is). Watch Team Pandemic under the watchful eye of Joseph "Noktyn" Romano take on Insurrection, Mob TurtlePower, fnatic and other WoW heavyweights, can they hold their own or will there be a new top team in town.

The only way to find out is to watch the World of Warcraft competition at the World Series of Video Games on Sunday, July 29th on CBS at 12pm ET/9AM PT. Find out more information about the World Series of Video Games at www.thewsvg.com.

Sounds interesting, I do think that 5v5 would boost interest in competitive WoW much more though. Alas, it'd probably be too expensive to host.

The way I see it is that it can't be any more boring than watching poker on ESPN. So there may be a future for WoW on TV. :)
